Chema Madoz

Chema Madoz is a photographer whose pictures are always in black and white. All his works contain lots of layers and are really metaphoric. Something that I found amazing was when he explained that he discovered the different possibilities that all objects could offer when he had to use an oven as a desk.

What's special about Chema is that his photography is really particular, really recognizable and personal. If you know his work, once you see a photograph made by him, you easilly recognize it's his. This is something I value a lot in an artist because you would think that after all these centuries, no one can come up with something never done before or something so personal that as soon as you see it you relate to a specific artist, but then, there are people like Chema who are able to do it and it is really admirable.

I also loved the fact that behind all the pictures there was a metaphoric meaning. One of my favourites was the watch with the train rails, which obviously refers to the passage of time.
